B&H Wishlist

B&H has close to 1 million customer wishlists. Adding and managing items within the wishlist was laborious and not very usable. I redesigned the entire system, utilizing layers and drag-and-drop functionality for a more immersive, intuitive experience. I conceived a strategy where I wanted the wishlist functionality to act as a foundation for other projects down the pipeline: gift registry for example, would re-use much of the components we'd build for Wishlist.

The feedback from customers was overwhelmingly positive and our sales from wishlist set company records.

Add to wishlist

When a customer wants to add an item to a wishlist, they click the Add to Wishlist button, and a layer appears, populated with their existing wishlists (if any). Customers can add that item to any wishlist they want, or create a new wishlist on demand, and add the item to that new wishlist.

Move to wishlist

When a customer is on a product detail or product listing page, we check to see if that item is already in one of their wishlists. If so, we show the In Wishlist button. This button offers similar functionality as the Add To Wishlist button. If a customer wants to move items between wishlists, they can. They can create new wishlists on demand as well. The layers provide significant functionality but don't try to do everything.
